 Description:
 Abstract:
 Tax district mapping is an important function of the Ad
 Valorem Mapping and Ag Section. The identification of tax
 districts aids in the mill levy process and helps counties
 to redistribute tax funds more effectively.
 Purpose:
 Tax districts are formed from a combination of taxing
 entities. In turn, these districts are assigned numbers
 that geographically represent unique groups of entities. No
 two tax districts will have identical numbers or groups of
 entities. An example of a tax district would be 0100, which
 could include the County Levy, a school district, a
 cemetary district, fire district, and weed and pest.
 Information on the creation of taxing entities is supplied
 by the entities themselves, which could include a map and
 legal description or no legal and a crude map or finally,
 nothing at all. Every effort is made to ensure accuracy of
 the taxing entity and district information through a review
 process with County Assessors.

 and information provided from taxing entities.
 Logical_Consistency_Report:
 All data is consistent with the PLSS. All polygons are
 complete, closed and
 attributed. Some overlaping polygons may exist do to human
 error.

 The data is complete according to the Ad Valorem Mapping
 and Ag Section's records, and the records provided by the
 taxing entities and/or Counties.

 Most data was created using USGS 7.5 minute Topographic
  Maps at 1:24000 scale, registered by Arc View and projected

 taxing entities. Existing entity information was obtained
 from Ad Valorem Mapping and Ag shapefiles and entity
 files.Tax districts were formed by combining taxing enties
 using the Engine to merge multiple shapefiles. The final
 tax district file was attributed with tax district numbers
 and tax codes.
